Civilisational tipping points and macro-scale attractors
Models the macro-dynamics of civilisation as a complex adaptive system — one with multiple potential attractor basins ranging from stable cooperation to system-wide collapse. We investigate how inequality, technological acceleration, climate stress, and social infrastructure interact to push societies toward or away from tipping points.
Research questions
- Which combinations of stressors most reliably push civilisational systems past bifurcation thresholds?
- Do socio-economic tipping points follow the same attractor geometry as physical systems?
- What interventions at the system level have the highest leverage for stabilising cooperative attractor states?
How AI is used
AI assists in scenario generation, cross-domain pattern recognition, and connecting simulation states to current geopolitical and economic indicators.
